Sweden's monopoly gambling provider Svenska Spel is authorized to offer lotteries and number games via the Internet and mobile devices. It is also authorized to offer Internet poker. Foreign providers may not offer services over the Internet in Sweden, and Internet casino gaming is not permitted. Sweden is among nine EU Member States whose gambling regulations are under investigation by the European Commission for potentially being over-restrictive.
